Abstract

As a part of the evaluation of FFI, phase two, a working group was established in order to study FFI’s support to Norwegian defence planning. The group had representatives from the Ministry of Defence, HQ Defence Command and FFI. This report gives an overview over FFI’s role and contributions to Norwegian term defence planning in the past. Further, the report discusses alternative future models for FFI’s support to the long-term defence planning to the integrated Ministry of Defence. The report then recommends that FFI in the future should keep its ability to do cost-effectiveness analysis of force structures, and in addition to this analysts from FFI should work in the MoD for a period of time.
